*Unicorns-of-the-Vale

After some debating, we have decided on a winner! We chose this entry becuase it does not only portray one of the many potential feelings going to the Summer Sea can cause, but becuase of the high level of technical skill - it was a difficult route to take with the shadows and the angle of the light, but it was performed superbly. with a nice translation of colors either bathed in light or shadow. Detail upon detail can be found as you look at the image, you can tell the artists put time and effort into it. The image was also followed by a nice story that very well explained the image, and enhanced the total feeling of it.

We also have the Special Mention, who recieves an artwork by ~bardicsidhe. We chose this piece becuase it really stands out amongst the entries, with its bright colors and the unique style of the artist is clearly visable, even through the canon charachters faces!

We are holding our very first contest! (there will be another one to come shortly my friends!) Said contest is one of ART (image art that is) and the topic is "Journeying to the Summer Sea!"

We are leaving freedom for interpretation in your hands. You may portray a scene from the books if you choose, or something completely your own! You may use canon characters or your own! The important thing is to be CREATIVE and put lots of effort into it! We want to see your minds overflow with fantastic creations; tell us what the Summer Sea is to you, make us feel hardships of travel, the romance of the beach, the sensual dance of the night, the friendships, the lovers, the meetings, the change in one's life... what you create is up to you! It has to be canon to the Firebringer world though!

OBSERVE - YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF UNICORNS OF THE VALE AT MSN TO PARTICIPATE! YOU SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH THE BOOKS HOWEVER, AS ENTRIES ARE REQUIRED TO BE CANON!





Requirements:

Last date of submission: July 15
All pictures are in color, any media allowed (i.e. pencils, watercolors, digital, etc. -- including photo manipulations)
An explanation about your scene. Let us know what you chose to portray and why!
There is no limit to how many submission you can make.
You should have read at least the first book to participate in this contest!
